Wyong Tips - 11 December 2024

Lets take a quick look at the best bets for Wyong & Mornington this Wednesday 11 December 2024, as the path to the Magic Millions Carnival rolls on.

WYONG

Rail – TRUE Track – Good

R4 1200m Wyong Magic Millions 3YO & 4YO Stakes 1200m

No.1 The Novelist made an nice impression winning a stronger race at the metropolitan Kembla Grange meeting, showing great fight to hold off the talented Bunker Hut. Easy to like formlines for a horse that will find the lead and the fact we’re getting almost $4 looks tremendous value.

R5 1100m Vanderpoel Smash Repairs Midway Benchmark 64 Handicap

No.6 Welcome Gypsy showed nice heart chasing Zealously over the 1000m at the track a fortnight ago. The mare should relish the extra 100m 2nd up and jockey Alysha Collett will have the option to take up the lead from the soft gate.

R6 Wyong Magic Millions 2YO Classic (Restricted LR)

We’re tipping a good day for the airborne Waterhouse-Bott yard, who brings the favour No.6 Tempestuous here. The sone of Extreme Choice was very impressive just missing on debt in the G3 Breeders Plate and Nash Rawiller makes the trip to stick with the colt. Should have this race at his mercy from Gate 2 and set up anther attack from the stable on the Gold Coast Carnival.

MORNINGTON

Rail – TRUE Track – Good

R1 1000m Sportsbet Fast Form Maiden Plate

Loved the trials for debutante No.1 Longcross in Sydney before, before findly the line nicely in a jump out for new trainer Mark Walker. The middle gate should allow the horse, which has show pace in the trials, to find a comfortable position in run and be very hard to beat.

R5 1000m Brad Masters Plumbing BM64

Last time we saw No. 3 Azeezle it was starting hard in the market in a $150k race at The Valley. This is a lovely drop in grade resuming off the back of a very smart all the way win in a jump out at this track. Top jocket Jamie Mott grabs the reigns giving us an extra bit of confidence with the Yulong owned gelding’s resumption.

R8 2000m Coastal Estate Agents BM64

We think Mark Walker’s Te Akau operation can top and tail this card, as No.8 Scottie’s Legacy comes to a race full of exposed stayers off a soft maiden win. Off the runs to date the mare will eat up the 2000m trip. The only query is the first time back to dry ground but does look to map perfectly from gate 5 and will be very hard to beat.
